As promised, here is the second, snake themed piece by the innovative and elegant designer, Roberto Coin. I find this ring extremely interesting. This piece comes from Roberto Coin’s Animalier collection, from the Cobra category.Yet again, this is unquestionably serpentine, yet it is not so over the top that it becomes a stereotypical, cliched mockery of itself. This designer makes you work for it. He will not point out the obvious, he will not do what you expect, because to do that would run the risk of creating something kitschy and potentially disastrous.
As you can see, this rose gold ring represents the scales of the cobra. Speaking of the metal, the rose gold is absolutely gorgeous. It is inherently soft and feminine, yet somehow evocative and sensual as well — two things which are definitely snake like. The scales are made of complimentary pink enamel and diamonds. The pink shade lends a sense of whimsy to the entire piece. After all, when as the last time you saw a pink cobra?
